Brief Introduction

The first China-Latin America and Caribbean States Space Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by the China National Space Administration and the People's Government of Hubei Province, is scheduled to be held from April 24 to 26, 2024, concurrently with the "2024 Space Day of China" series of events, in Wuhan, China. The forum aims to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Latin America and the Caribbean countries, expand the cooperation areas of the China-CELAC Forum, and promote the construction of a China-LAC community with a shared future through high-quality space cooperation. The conference will invite government officials from China, Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as representatives of industry, research entities and the private sector to discuss the establishment of space partnerships, the sharing of space technology for the benefit of mankind, and the joint construction of a high-level platform for international space cooperation between China and Latin American and the Caribbean countries.

The forum consists of an opening ceremony, a plenary session and four sub-forums, which encourage exchanges on space infrastructure for sustainable socio-economic development, deep space exploration and space science, innovation and development of the aerospace industry chain, global governance of outer space, and capacity building.
