LM-2 was a two-stage launch vehicle which was a basic version of launch vehicle in China. It came into development in 1970. LM-2 took its first flight at JiuQuan Satellite Launch Center on November 5, 1974, because of the failure of a wire in control system, the first flight failed. LM-2 took the second flight on November 26,1975, which was successful and put a recoverable satellite into orbit. It also put the 2nd and 3rd recoverable spacecraft in space. The LM-2 has been placed out of commission.
