On the afternoon of September 25, Dr. Ma Xingrui, Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), met with Dr. Chaowalit Silapathong, Deputy Executive Director of Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Thailand. Both parties made deep and extensive exchanges on space cooperation between China and Thailand.
Ma expressed that China and Thailand enjoy a good relation and China is willing to share the benefits resulting from space technology for mankind with Thailand. China positively supports the Chinese enterprises to participate in the space cooperation programs, conduct personnel exchanges and training, and build the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) into a good platform for peaceful use of outer space and developing regional cooperation jointly with Thailand.
For the purpose of further strengthening the space cooperation between the Chinese and Thai governments, Ma proposed to establish a space cooperation mechanism between the space agencies of the two countries, jointly initiate the consultation on signing the intergovernmental space cooperation agreement between the two countries, and practically promote the China-Thailand space cooperation.
Silapathong extended his thanks to China for its support and help in the field of space and agreed to Ma’s proposals. He hoped that China and Thailand can further strengthen exchanges, develop practical cooperation in the areas such as satellite data sharing, and promote the China-Thailand space cooperation to enter into a new stage.
The related personnel from the Department of System Engineering under CNSA, and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) attended the meeting.
