On May 11, 2009 , the “Training Course on Data Processing and Application of Remote Sensing Satellite”, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MIIT), Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology of Thailand (MICT), and organized by Beihang University (BUAA) opened in Beijing. Delegates from MIIT, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China , APSCO and BUAA attend the inauguration ceremony. 43 participants from the APSCO Member States, including Bangladesh, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and China will participate in the tanning course of two weeks.
The applications of satellite remote sensing have played a very important role in promoting the economic development and the social progress of various countries, while the high-level scientific and management talents are the essential prerequisite for developing the satellite remote sensing. This training course will certainly increase the comprehensive abilities of the participants, make new and even greater contributions to sharing experiences of satellite remote sensing data processing in different countries, improve the applications of the remote sensing satellite data, strengthen the abilities of the Member States against the issues such as natural disasters, climate change and environment protection, and promote the economic and social development and prosperity in the region.
