CBERS-2B to be launched soon

All preparatory works for launching CBERS 02B are in full swing, and this Satellite is scheduled to be launched from Taiyuan Space Center from September 19~21, 2007, said an officer from CNSA at CBERS 02B promotion seminar held on September 15, 2007.

CBERS 02B was jointly developed by China and Brazil according to an investment ratio of 7:3. The payload onboard the satellite also contains 4-spectrum 20-meter resolution CCD camera and 2-spectrum 258-meter resolution WFI camera, while a HR camera of 2.4-meter resolution is added. China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellites 01/02 run continuously and steadily and acquire a large amount of data.

At present, the registered users on China Resources Satellite Application Center have amounted over 1,300, while more than 0.2 million data products are already distributed and widely applied to 32 provinces/autonomous regions, relevant ministries, commissions and research institutes as well as a number of enterprises and institutions.
