Remote Sensing Satellite-2 was carried by Long March-2D carrier rocket (CZ2D-8) and launched successfully from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 15:12 Beijing Time on May 25, 2007.

The information data and test result obtained by Remote Sensing Satellite-2 shall accelerate the development of the science technology and economy in China actively.

Up to the present, the Long March family carrier rocket has conducted successfully its 99th flight, and it has launched successfully for 57 times continuously since Oct. 1996.
