Dear Applicants for the loan of Chang’E-5 lunar samples:

Greetings from CNSA Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Center.

The First Conference Review Meeting for the Chang’E-5 Lunar Sample International Loan Applications will be held on April 26th 2024 (GMT+8), Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Please reply by email before April 12th (GMT+8) to confirm your attendance. You are encouraged to attend in person for an on-site presentation. Should there be any  uncertainty or if in-person attendance is not possible, an online video presentation option is also available.

Please kindly submit your presentation slides (in a PPT form) to this email and forward them to lunarsample@163.com by April 22nd 16:00 PM (GMT+8). The pitch duration will be limited to less than 8 minutes, and the presentation will be 7 minutes. Please prepare according to the  presentation schedule attached below.

Please note that if you cannot attend in person, you will need to record a video of your presentation and send it together with the presentation slides to this email.

During the pitch, a video will be played. Each applicant will need to answer questions from the evaluation experts. Please note that failure to attend the pitch is considered as withdrawal from the application.

The specific time and venue of the meeting are scheduled below:

2. Venue: Conference Room, 4th Floor, Huibin Building, Reception and Service Center, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan) Nanwangshan Campus

(within China University of Geosciences, No. 388 Lumo Road, Hongshan District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province)

4. Requirements:

- Applicants attending the on-site presentation are required to inform us of their arrival itinerary at their own expense.

- Applicants who intend to participate in person are required to arrive and sign in at the designated waiting room 20 minutes prior to their scheduled time. For those participating virtually, please ensure that you enter the virtual video conference waiting room 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled time as well. A link to access the video conference will be provided to you in advance.

- Please note that the ratio of the slides is set to 16:9, which is compatible with venue’s projection system.

- Please be aware of the PPT file naming format. The file should be named according to the following convention:“ evaluation serial number (see serial number in the attachment) - applicant’s name - name of the institute (refer to the name of institute in the attachment)”. For example: 1-Stephen Parman-Brown University, United States

- Please submit the electronic PPT slides according to the time specified  in the notice. A submission after the due date will NOT be accepted, and will be considered as a withdrawal from the pitch. And please be fully aware that no modifications will be allowed once they have been submitted.

- Applicants attending in person are welcomed to invite up to 2 individuals to accompany them as guests.
