[News From CNSA] It was reported at the General Coordination Conference of Twin-Satellite Exploration Program held recently that the design and research of each sub-system of the Earth and Space Twin-Satellite Exploration Program, the first space scientific exploration Program in China, had been finished, the overall technical index have met the requirements, and the Program is now in countdown. The first satellite of the two will be launched in December this year, and the second one will be launched half a year later.
The Program is the first scientific exploration program proposed by our country independently to develop international cooperation. The Twin-Satellite includes perigee equator satellite and perigee pole satellite, which will move above the major activity area of perigee magnetic field that cannot be covered by ISTP satellite in the world, and coordinate with the four satellites of Satellites Program II of the exploration program of European Space Administration, forming the first six point three-dimensional exploration of the earth and space in the history of human being.（Li Qian）
Chronicles of Twin-Satellite Exploration Program January 1997, leaded by Liu Zhenxing, academician at the Space Science and Application Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences and discussed by relevant scientists in the country for many times, the Earth and Space Twin-Satellite Exploration Program was proposed.
November 1997, the contract for cooperation of Twin-Satellite Program and Satellites Program II was signed by European Space Administration Scientific Project Department and the Space Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, European Space Administration expressed their willingness to support in calculation of orbit of satellite and effective loading research.
January 2000, Chinese Academy held the demonstration and evaluation conference of scientific goal of Twin-Satellite Program, experts at the conference passed the demonstration and evaluation.
March 2000, Chinese delegation of Twin-Satellite Program attended the demonstration conference of A period program of Twin-Satellite Program held in European Space Administration Headquarters in Paris. Experts of European Space Administration were very satisfied with A period program and signed a further cooperative contract.
May 2000, the feasibility, demonstration and evaluation conference of the Earth and Space Twin-Satellite Exploration Program was held and the evaluation committee composed of several academicians passed the evaluation.
July 2001, Luan Enjie, administrator of CNSA, and A. Rodata, administrator of European Space Administration, signed the contract for cooperation of the Earth and Space Twin-Satellite Exploration Program.
April 2002, the Twin-Satellite Program was ratified project by the State Council, symbolizing the overall launch of this project.
July 2003, the effective loading system of the Twin-Satellite Program was put into operation.
