Luan Enjie Met with Canadian Ambassador to China(photo)

News from CNSA] On December 1, 2003, Luan Enjie, administrator of China National Space Administration met with Mr. Keger, Canadian ambassador to China.

Mr. Luan first expressed his welcome to Mr. Keger for his visit, and then, as the request of the guests, he gave a brief introduction on the influence of China's space activities and space technology to the national economy, as well as the role of China in international launching market. Meanwhile, he pointed out that there was still a gap between China's space technology and application and those of other space giant countries.

Mr. Keger congratulated China's successful launch of the first manned spaceflight, and said that the excellent performance and marvelous achievement of Chinese astronomer belonged to not only China, but also the whole world.

During the meeting, the two parties also held discussion on the probability of cooperation in space between China and Canada. Mr. Luan expected the visit of administrator of Canada Space Administration to China next year, and the two countries would further discuss space cooperation at that time.
