At 10:40 am, April 20, HY-1B satellite was orbitting into the coverage of Beijing Satellite Earth Stations, NSOAS, and also sent back successfully the first track remote-sensing images. This event was witnessed by vice minister of COSTIND, administrator of National Space Administration, Mr. Sun Laiyan, administrator of State Oceanic Administration (SOA), Mr. Sun Zhihui and the leaders from China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC).

Then, Mr. Sun Laiyan congratulated the successful launching of HY-1B and acquisition of first image on behalf of COSTIND.
