LM-1 was a three-stage launch vehicle dedicated to launching small payloads into LEO orbits. It had a lift-off mass of 81.6t, a thrust of 102t, an overall length of 29.86m and a maximum diameter of 2.25 m. It could put a 300 kg satellite into a 440km orbit. On April 24, 1970, LM-1 launched DFH-1successfully into a predetermined orbit, laying the foundation for the development of Long March (LM) family. The LM-1 has been placed out of commission.
