The United Nations Regional Centers for Space Science and Technology Education (UNRCSSTE) in Asia Pacific (China ) in aeronautics and astronautics officially inaugurated in Beihang University,China on Tuesday.
 
The UNRCSSTE is the only education institution established by UN in China to promote communication and cooperation in the field of aerospace, and it will play a positive role in promoting the field of aerospace education and training.
 
Mr. Xu Dazhe, the Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), Ms. Simonetta Di Pippo, director of the Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), attended the Inauguration Ceremony hosted by Mr. Wu Yanhua, the Vice Administrator of CNSA.
 
Xu Dazhe said in his speech that the establishment of UNRCSSTE will promote the countries all over the world, especially in Asia and Pacific region, through education and training in space science and technology, sharing the results of China's, which will promote the the upgrading of the level of national aerospace in the world.
 
Ms. Simonetta Di Pippo said that the regional center of China and the regional centers in Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America as well as other regions will compose a network of regional centers, and through the Regional Center for Education and training is going to enhance member country capacity-building for the Asia Pacific region and more countries to bring social and economic benefits.
 
The United Nations affiliated regional center for space science and Technology Education, administered by the United Nations Outer Space division,aims to enhance the level of space science and technology applications in developing countries.In 2013, The CNSA in COPUOS meeting proposed the establishment of United Nations affiliated space science and technology education in Asia and the Pacific Regional Center initiatives in Beihang university ,China.The initiative by COPUOS approval and licensing.
