Administrator Ma Met with CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall

On the afternoon of September 23, Dr. Ma Xingrui, Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), met with Jean-Yves Le Gall, the President of the French Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES), who is attending the 64th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) held in Beijing. Both parties made deep exchanges on space cooperation between China and France.

Ma pointed out that in the past years, China and France positively communicate with each other and have achieved remarkable results in such areas as Earth science, earthquake science and satellite engineering. He hoped that, based on the existing cooperation as well the principle of mutual benefits, both parties will practically ensure the smooth implementation of the related programs; and further discuss the cooperation in such areas as deep space exploration, space science and space applications, seek the programs conforming to the common interests of both parties, and continuously deepen and solidify the space cooperation between China and France.

Le Gall expressed that France treasures the existing cooperation results achieved by both parties, and will strengthen communications and positively consult with China to formulate the work plan as soon as possible, ensure the implementation of the related programs, and promote the space cooperation between the two countries.

Yin Hejun, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Yuan Jie, Vice President of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), and Tian Yulong, Secretary General of CNSA, attended the meeting.
